Our Story
In 2017, Karen Stanley established Stanley Law in Adelaide, South Australia. It quickly became known as a specialist criminal, traffic and firearms law firm with a particular expertise in traffic law.
In 2022, Naomi Hill joined Stanley Law. Like Karen, Naomi is also a highly regarded and respected criminal and traffic lawyer.
Together, Karen and Naomi grew Stanley Law into one of Adelaide’s leading traffic and criminal law firms with significant success in Supreme Court appeals. Their work in traffic law has been vital, with several successful technical arguments changing how traffic offences are prosecuted and defended in South Australia.
If you’ve read about a technical traffic law case, Karen or Naomi (or both) were likely the lawyers involved.
Karen and Naomi often observed the significant overlap between criminal and family law, and for years, they referred all family law enquiries to Laura Elkins. It was inevitable that the three would eventually join forces.
In 2025, Stanley Hill Elkins was formed.
Karen, Naomi and Laura previously worked at the same mid-size law firm. They have long appreciated and respected each other’s expertise. They have also collaborated on matters involving both criminal and family law issues.
