How Alyssa helps her clients
Alyssa’s approach is to help her clients understand their options and the risks and benefits of each. This ensures they remain active participants in decisions that affect their lives, rather than passive observers of a process they don’t understand fully. Such clarity also gives clients a stronger sense of control during what can otherwise be an overwhelming process.
Alyssa offers more accessible fees than senior practitioners, while still delivering an excellent standard of advice and advocacy, underpinned by Stanley Hill Elkins’ outstanding support.
Alyssa’s career path
Before becoming a Solicitor, Alyssa spent almost fifteen years working in the legal industry in corporate governance, legal policy, and legal administration, including her previous role as Executive Officer and Policy Officer at the Law Society of South Australia. This experience gave her a broad understanding of the legal landscape and developed the procedural knowledge and practical judgment that now inform her client work.
Alyssa also spent seven years as an Air Force Security Reservist, where she developed strong skills in risk assessment, conflict management and clear communication under pressure. Her training in security operations, incident response, de-escalation and threat assessment continues to shape her steady, practical approach to her work.
These skills are especially valuable in family, criminal and traffic law, where clients are often making important decisions at stressful points in their lives.
Alyssa previously worked with Karen Stanley, Naomi Hill and Laura Elkins at a private law firm, where she saw firsthand the stress and emotional strain litigation can place on clients. This experience shaped her preference for resolving matters without going to Court where practical and in her client’s best interests.
