If you’re facing the stress and uncertainty of criminal charges, you’ll find peace of mind, confidence, and empowerment with Naomi Hill’s stable and trustworthy professional guidance.
Naomi knows that handling a criminal or traffic law case in the right way will help you reduce stress, refocus on your personal life and enable you to make informed decisions.
There’s a saying that “knowledge is power,” and Naomi couldn’t agree more. She believes clients are empowered through information that’s straightforward and easy to understand. She’s committed to realistically assessing what’s achievable in Court, even if it’s not what you want to hear.
Naomi has an outstanding success rate for trials and appeals, which she says is due to her clients being fully informed about the strengths and weaknesses of their cases. This means that clients’ expectations are reasonable, and the risk of any nasty surprises is minimised.
How Naomi helps her clients
One of Naomi’s great strengths is her ability to stay calm and focused under pressure. This is an excellent quality for Court appearances because Naomi provides steady guidance through complex situations. At the same time, she ensures that her clients understand what’s happening so they can make decisions, with the information necessary to weigh up any consequences. Naomi can deal with any unexpected twists and explain them to her clients in a straightforward and confident manner. These factors all help Naomi achieve excellent results that her clients can anticipate and understand.
She consistently presents legal arguments with confidence and impressive knowledge. Naomi is a critical thinker with outstanding attention to detail, which enables her to carefully review all the evidence with precision. This is an important aspect of legal work because the success of a case often relies on the lawyer being able to analyse and interpret evidence while under significant pressure.
Naomi has an excellent relationship with prosecution lawyers, which helps her to negotiate the withdrawal or downgrading of charges. She has a high success rate, often because she flags weaknesses and technical issues early in the process. These skills are valuable because charges are often resolved well before trial, saving her clients money, time, stress and avoiding the disruption to personal life that drawn-out legal proceedings can cause.
Naomi is our in-house counsel, which means that she conducts much of Stanley Hill Elkins’ contested matters, including:
- Trials
- Appeals
- Bail applications
- Sentencing submissions
She also provides highly specialised, technical and strategic advice in criminal, traffic, firearms and family law issues.
All these qualities and skills make Naomi an excellent defence lawyer, but she offers even more brilliant service with her care for her clients. She understands that being a defendant in the criminal justice system is daunting. So, when you engage Naomi as your lawyer, she’ll do whatever she can to make sure you understand the legal process.

Naomi’s career path
Even as a child, Naomi knew she wanted to be a criminal defence lawyer: it represents who she is, what she has always wanted to do and what she has now done for 15 years. The saying “a job is what you do, not who you are” does not apply to Naomi. This is who she is.
Before she completed her legal qualifications, Naomi’s dedication was clear. She got a job in a fast-paced criminal law firm and once she’d finished her studies, she hit the ground running, representing defendants charged with a huge range of criminal offences. It was challenging work with a steep learning curve, but Naomi loved it.
Later, she spent several years working at another private firm as a criminal and traffic law specialist. Through collaboration, Naomi and Karen Stanley honed their skills in the technical aspects of traffic law. Naomi has since established her reputation as one of South Australia’s brightest and best criminal and traffic lawyers.
Naomi met and worked with Laura Elkins at the same private firm, giving Naomi insight into Laura’s excellent abilities as a family lawyer.
Several years later, in 2022 Naomi joined Karen at Stanley Law, and in 2025, the firm became Stanley Hill Elkins, offering family, criminal and traffic law services.
